Afro Library : A WHO-Africa library database providing access to abstracts and sometimes links to full-texts on African literature.Amboss: Quizzes provide an effective means of enhancing one's medical expertise and staying updated with the latest knowledge. AMBOSS is a valuable online resource for both healthcare students and professionals, featuring an extensive collection of multiple-choice questions. Its interactive content and smart image overlay feature enable users to improve their understanding of medical terminology and practice diagnostic skills through charts and x-rays while taking quizzes. The AMBOSS app can be integrated with Anki accounts to receive additional pop-up explanations alongside flashcard decks. The website's encyclopedia and question bank can be downloaded to a smartphone for offline use. How to get access To access AMBOSS, users must first create an account on the website by visiting amboss.com. Once an account has been established, click on the "Account" icon located on the left-hand side of the dashboard while connected to the University's network. Then, under "Institutional Licenses," select "Activate Now." Alternatively, follow this link: https://www.amboss.com/us/campuslicense/add. On the page, choose "Kamuzu University of Health Sciences" from the dropdown menu under Campus License and click on "Campus License" to request access. To verify that you are a member of the university, provide your school email address in the format of @kuhes.ac.mw or @stud.medcol.mw and click the "Campus License" button again to submit. You will receive an email with a confirmation link to complete your activation immediately. Once activated, you will have unlimited access to AMBOSS for three months, after which you will need to repeat the same process. You can also download the AMBOSS apps for Android and iOS to access the website's resources offline. This amazing resource has kindly been made available to KUHeS students and faculty through partnership with AMBOSS..

CABI Publishing : Global Health: a bibliographic and indexing database specializing in public health, human nutrition, parasitic, communicable diseases, and medicinal plants. Over 2 million records available with over 28,000 full-text articles.
CAPSULE: CAPSULE is an undergraduate medical quiz-based learning resource app. It works well on a phone and does not require a lot of memory. It has been made available to KUHeS through funds raised by Dr Neil Kennedy and Friends of Sick Children Malawi and kind arrangement with Ocasta studios limited. The app contains more than 687 cases in various specialties and each case has 2-12 questions. You can access feedback on your answers with more info on the particular topic. You are free to work through as many questions as you wish, however the app is UK based and some of the cases may warrant discussion since some aspects of management may be different in our setting. Also some translation of terms may be needed eg. an 'FY1' is the term for an intern doctor in the UK. All MBBS 3-5 and BSc Clinical officer students have licenses. If you have not received a welcome email from CAPSULE but think you should have, then go to https://learn.capsule.ac.uk and click forgotten password using your KUHeS email address. You should then receive an email from CAPSULE to reset your password. Cochrane Library : The Cochrane Library is a collection of online searchable databases containing high quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. Cochrane Reviews represent the highest level of evidence on which to base clinical treatment decisions. In addition to Cochrane Reviews, The Cochrane Library provides other sources of reliable information, from other systematic review abstracts, technology assessments, economic evaluations and individual clinical trials; all the current evidence in one single environment.

HINARI : A World Health Organization (WHO) portal providing access to both abstract only and full-text journals articles, e-books, references sources and other databases. Full-text access requires log-in details (username and password) which are obtainable from the Librarian (librarian@medcol.mw) and are for use by bona fine staff and students only.

Oxford Online Products & Online Journals: The Oxford Journals Collection offers access to more than 350 high quality online journals in medicine, life sciences, mathematics and physical sciences, law, the humanities and social sciences.
Popline : A database on reproductive health literature comprising citations with abstracts to scientific articles, reports, books, and unpublished reports on population, family planning, and related issues. Over 3,600 records are indexed in this database. Document delivery services for full-text request are offered but requires individual subscription.
Population Reference Bureau (PRB) : Contains information on population, health, and the environment. Apart from publications, PRB includes Datafinder, a database with variables for the US and around the world.

UpToDate is a reliable source for finding answers to urgent questions regarding patient care at the bedside. Complete the registration form to create a login and password, then click "submit" to gain access. If you already have access, simply visit uptodate.kuhes.ac.mw while connected to the university's internet and click on "login" to access your account using the same login and password. To use UpToDate, log in to www.uptodate.com/online on any device connected to the internet and enter your username and password. You can also download the mobile app to use UpToDate on your smartphone with or without an internet connection through Mobile Complete. To keep your account active, you must log in from KUHeS's network at least once every 12 months. World Bank Africa Development Indicators : A comprehensive collection of data on Africa with over 1,400 statistical indicators and time series from 1965 for 53 countries on social, economic, financial, natural resources, infrastructure, governance, partnership, and environmental indicators.
World Bank eLibrary : A full-text collection with over 6,000 titles of books, reports/working papers, journals, and other documents on social and economic development.
World Bank Global Economic Monitor : Features an up-to-date analysis on global economic conditions, including a daily brief and event-driven focus reports, direct access to high-frequency datasets via Quick Query, forecasts for commodity prices and macroenomic indicators for over 130 countries.
