Borrowing Services
Borrowing services provide KUHeS students, faculty, staff, and other KUHeS affiliated users with access to physical items including books, technology, audiovisual materials and more. Borrowing services are available during each library's hours of operation.
Want to borrow books?
KUHeS students, staff, and faculty have privileges to borrow from all of the main KUHeS libraries. In order to borrow, you must first complete a membership registration card and be one of the following:

An undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in a degree program

A current faculty member or full time staff member
Access and borrowing privileges are not transferable, which means that you may not use another individual’s ID to borrow a book or use their login information to access e-resources.

All books, unless requested by someone else, can be borrowed for the following periods:

How Many Books can i borrow?
Authorized borrowers are allowed to borrow to the maximum of books as follows:

Failure To Return Borrowed Materials On Times And Dates Due
What if i return my items late?
- Any person who fails to return any item in general circulation shall pay a fine of one hundred Kwacha (MK 100.00) per item per day until the item is returned or the person indicates that he/she has lost it.
- Any person who loses any library item shall pay for the full cost of replacement of the lost item, including 25% for handling and other incidental charges.
- Any person who fails to return to the library and library item which has been duly recalled within four days from the date on which the recall is made shall pay a fine of one hundred kwacha (MK100.00) per item per day.
- Any person who fails to return any short loan/reserve item shall be required to pay one hundred kwacha (MK 100.00) per item per hour
